What is Dao?
The word Dao (Tao) is a Chinese word for Road, Path, or Way. In East Asian wisdom traditions this term was used to denote the spiritual path of one's life, which is the path of one's heart. Such a path is intertwined with the everyday experience. Being fully present with our everyday experience, we can learn to harmonize with our hearts, and, in doing so, begin to see this Path (Dao) of life with deeper clarity.
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness (Sati) is the state of "lucid awareness" that arises when we pay attention to the present moment, non-judgementally. Traditionally, Mindfulness, also meant "recollection," whereby one recalls the instruction of returning to the present moment, in order to cultivate this state of "lucid awareness."
